Maritime, port & stock inspection

Securing the tracking of products and flows.

Cargo and container inspection, loading and discharge supervision, weighing and sampling, draft survey, stock monitoring, damage surveys.

Between the moment goods arrive and the moment they leave, they are weighed, stored, processed and loaded. At every step, they can lose weight, quality or value. We are there on site, at the quay, in the warehouse and at the mill, to check, measure and record every movement. Our clients thus know exactly what they have, what they have lost and why.

What we do

  • Cargo and container inspection

Before loading or on arrival, we inspect the condition of the goods, the packaging and the containers. We check that what is declared matches what is present, record any anomalies and deliver a dated, documented inspection report.

  • Supervision of loading, weighing and sampling

A badly performed weighing or a poorly drawn sample can skew an entire transaction. We supervise operations on site: loading, weighing and sampling according to the rules. Every operation is recorded, so that buyer and seller rely on the same figures.

  • Loading and discharge supervision

When a vessel loads or discharges, we follow the operations on site, on the quay and on board: quantities handled, condition of the goods, progress of loading or discharge. Every operation is recorded in a dated report, so that all parties rely on the same findings.

  • Draft survey

A draft survey measures the quantity loaded or discharged by reading the vessel’s draught marks before and after the operation. We record the readings and the calculation in a report delivered to the parties.

  • Stock control and monitoring (Stock Monitoring Agreement)

When a stock serves as collateral or changes hands, it needs an independent eye. Under a stock monitoring agreement, we check incoming and outgoing goods, storage conditions, material losses (shrinkage) and milling yields, then report regularly. We have provided it for TARA, CAPI and Grain d’Avenir.

  • Damage surveys and joint surveys

When goods arrive damaged or incomplete, the facts must be established before liability is discussed. We survey the damage on site, look for its cause and assess it, with all parties present if need be. Our report serves as a common basis for settling the dispute or the compensation.

Analyses and tests through our partner laboratories accredited to ISO/IEC 17025.
